Air flowing through the rear chamber (Figure 1) feeds a quantity of springs forward to the spinning chamber where tumbling action separates them. Air pressure also feeds single springs into the outlet nozzle for delivery down a feed tube (Figure 2). A pulsed airflow clears the nozzle of tangled springs which are pushed back into the rear chamber (Figure 3).
